Captain’s January 2014 News

Here are some of the things that are worth noting as changes for the 2014 season:

• Results for All honour board events for gross will be by an 18 hole play off
• Carts if available for club championships will be for those who are 50 years and older
• Medical certificate will be required for all other age groups within 7 days or the start of competition
• The birds nest holes for 2014 will be 1, 11 and 15. Please remember to use the box provided for on the card to record your birds nest result as we will not be checking each card.

Handicap changes

Golf link will be turned off from the 20th – 23rd of January. The new Golf Australia (GA) handicap system will be implemented during this time.

What will this mean for you?

The new system will now incorporate a slope rating and this is to allow a golfer from an easy course to go to a tough course and play of a handicap that should better suit that golfer. For more information there is a flyer in the proshop or from the office to help explain this better.

For the member at Jindalee we will not notice too much of a change as our Slope Rating is 115 for the men & 113 for the ladies.

Fixture Book

The 2014 Fixture Book is available online, just select this on the front page to open and view. If you are after a hard copy, then one can be printed out for you from the office. Please ask Mike.

Match Play Events for 2014

There are several of these throughout the year. The dates are all set in the fixture book so where possible please ensure that if you are not available for the dates set out that you do not enter these events.
